Bakersfield Trip

We left last Thursday for Bakersfield. We got back late last night. I had to upload all the photos and videos. We really enjoyed our time up there. It was a great weekend. We celebrated birthdays on Friday evening with a family birthday party. We did a lot of other things, too. Mostly we just tried to stay cool as it was SO hot outside. It was fun to spend time with everyone. More later.

Grandpa-all tuckered out from all the "wrestling" he did! Elijah enjoying an icecream from the icecream truck. Becca did a great job on the cakes.

On Liesl's b-day we went to a play place nearby called "The Wild". It's small, indoors and inexpensive. It has several bounce houses and other play-on toys for all ages. Lot's of fun.
Birthday girl at "The Wild" Clara being oh so cute at the play place. Owen got the Lego Cargo Plane. He is getting great at putting Legos together. Liesl got her first bike for her birthday! One of the highlights of the trip was the losing of Liesl's front tooth. It was slightly loose and her mouth got knocked at the play place she went to for her birthday and it greatly speeded up the process. Her Daddy pulled it on Sunday. (It was hanging at 90 degrees!) The "twinsies". Grandma made these matching dresses for Clara and Liesl. aren't they sweet? I'll post more on our trip tomorrow, including videos.

Elijah and Father's Day

I am trying to figure out how to get this blog to post in the order that I put things in it. But so far I haven't been able to figure that out. So I've tried to put this post together in the proper order. That means posting the last things first and the first things last. It's driving me nuts and I hope that there is some way I can just put things in and have them show up in that order, but for now this is what you get. Shawn and Kim came in yesterday on there way home from AZ. They are leaving tonight or tomorrow morning. We are also leaving for Bakersfield tomorrow morning. I will update on everyone in my next post.
I know this is a wierd picture...but it's Elijah playing in the car. He had his face pressed against the glass and I took the photo quickly with a flash. When I turned the flash off, he wouldn't do it again. Oh well. You snooze you lose. We have enjoyed having S,K and E here while they come and go to AZ.
More of Elijah playing in the car. He is inside and looking through the opening in the trunk. What a funny boy!

Grandpa and the girls. They had given him a card with a magnet attatched to it. In the photo is is attatched to his forehead!

The only "fathers" that were in attendance. Dad looks wiped out! (I'm not sure why).

Juliette mugging with a straw after we enjoyed rootbeer floats for desserts.

Here's all of us on Father's Day. We used the timer on the camera. It was good to all be together.

This will be my last post until after our return from Bakersfield. I've decided to not take the computer. So I will post when we get back; probably on Monday. We're leaving tomorrow about mid-day. Love you all. Mom

JC and Nikki goodbye pix

I know all we have is 6 lowly tomatoe plants, Jason...not a whole garden, but here is a pix of our "future" harvest. Can't wait to eat them!

"Goodbye" photo we took in Redlands just before saying goodbye. They left the next morning for their drive across the country. Haven't talked to them...don't know where they are tonight. Hopefully having fun!

Here are JC and Nikki enjoying their day with Grandma and Grandpa.

This is JC and Nikki taking the plunge together.

Grandpa got in on the act. I don't know who was getting in the most hits, but he was soaked when it was all over. He loved it. And Jason and Nicole thought they'd gone to heaven getting their grandpa all wet!

Friday Update

Hi everyone. I was not feeling well last night...more asthma, but I'm doing okay tonight. We got Jason and Nikki back to Redlands on Wed and said goodbye to their family. They are probably in Yellowstone tonight. We haven't talked to them since Wed afternoon.

We are planning our trip to Bakersfield for next Thurs. We're staying till Sunday.

Talked to Tammy today. They are all feeling better, but some symptoms remain. This lung thing was a bad infection for most of us. Some of you may not know that brad had pneumonia after I did and Renetta had a bad lung infection, also and was put on antibiotics, also. JC had a milder version of it. Nasty bugs.

I hope to upload my photos and videos from JC and Nikki's visit by tomorrow and post a couple of them. Until then, enjoy some of these photos from Mari's b-day. More tomorrow.

Love, Mom

It's Wednesday. Dad went up and helped Brad and his parents load up their truck yesterday. It wasn't too bad, he said. Then he brought JC and Nikki home with him. They swam and then we took them out to dinner. They won't be here all summer so this is their last time to do that with us for a year. It was a fun evening. JC is awake already and Nikki still sleeping. (Dad too!) We got the web cam working. It's fun. We hope to be able to talk to all of you that was. Great way to see and talk at the same time. Love you all. Mom

Welocome to the first posting of the Lyle Larkin family blog. We hope this will be a way of getting news out to everyone. We hope to post photos and videos so everyone will see what is going on in all our lives. Please connect in when you get your emails and check this as often as you can. Enjoy checking in. Tell us all about your news and post photos and videos so we can all enjoy each other's lives. Now that we are all going to be a little more scattered, we felt this would be a way to know a little bit more about how we are all doing. Love to you all.
