This is a quickie. Jason, Becca and kidlings arrive tomorrow morning for a visit for a few days. We are excited to see them and I plan to take lots of pictures and videos. The weather has been so good I hope it lasts. I subbed in the temple this morning and then the temple will be closed for the next two weeks. That's ok, because it will be a busy month. After J&B, Dallas and fam come for Peter's wedding. Then Shawn and Kim at the end of the month. Love it! My knee doing better. Guess all my natural stuff is paying off. Love you all.

Just realized I posted those blog links incorrectly. Here they are:

Love the Comments!
No photos today. Just wanted to say thank you for reading the blog and posting your comments. It gives me good feedback and I really appreciate that. My knee is really good today and so I tried the treadmill this morning. Only a mile and at quite a slow speed, but it felt good. Baby steps...I am having good results from the natural methods I'm using to reduce the inflammation and they seem to be working. Check out Carol Parks blog (parkspals@blogspot.com) and see the cute video of Owen and Liesl in their swimming lesson. They(their family) are coming next weekend for a few days visit. We're excited to see them. Also check out the video on Janice (Horsely) Cook's blog (thecookgang-janni@blogspot.com). It's 8 minutes long, but such a good video relating life to running a marathon. I cried through it. It was put together by a seminary teacher. I tried to put a link directly to the video, but couldn't get it to work. Dad and I used our movie passes (thanks Netta, I think) and went to see Harry Potter last Thurs. for my b-day. It was very good. It did have a different feel to it than the previous movies, but true to the book.
Well, guys. I love you all. More later. Mom

Ryan's Birthday
Today is Ryan's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RYAN!!! As I figure it, you turned 37 today! Hard to believe. (Mostly that I have a child that old!) Ryan is a good son, husband and father. We love him and love that he is part of the Larkin family. Thanks for joining our family 37 years ago. We all love you. Enjoy these photos from their last visit.

Mom's Birthday and Stomach Flu
My birthday was July 18th. As you all know I turned 60! Truthfully, it was a little hard for me to celebrate this one. I spent several days steeling myself for it. The morning was quiet and then Dad and I went to a 3 hour meeting for the singles advisors. The YSA are having a state-wide conference in August. There is a whole lot of planning involved. We hurried home to greet Alan and Tammy and the girls for a barbeque dinner here at home. Within the hour of their arrival, Mari got sick and threw up. Within the next two hours, everyone in their family but the baby was throwing up. They were all so ill, they spent the night...even though they had not planned this. We had invited Linda. She was there also. So present opening and cake and ice cream were interesting. Everyone was a little green by then! The kids left the next day, still feeling rocky. Linda, Dad and I have not caught it.(Thankfully). But it was not the funnest celebration. Dad only got these two photos and I didn't take any. (I was busy helping with sick people). So this is it. (And I had to crop them in cause Dad stood so far away. Oh well). Hope our next event is a little more fun!
This is me blowing out the candle. (Note...one candle!)
Dad took this photo first. My reaction is to Juliette enjoying the singing of "Happy Birthday".

Calendar Pages
As you all know, I designed a calendar for 2009 in my scrapbooking program. I was going to have them printed and give them all to you, but that did not work out. So I am putting them on the blog so you can all at least see them. I highlighted each grandchild in the order they were born. I hope you enjoy them. Perhaps I will make an updated version for next year. I've wanted to do this for years. The babies have all changed since I designed these, but they are fun to look at. I love you all and hope you are enjoying the blog. Mom
